It's amazing to me how adoption links hearts..."She is so in love with her dress that the only way I got it off of her is that she is headed to a father/daughter camping trip and I told her that it was going to get dirty :) I have a feeling that when they get home in the morning the first thing she will do is head to her closet!"

Solomon has hated having his hair combed, washed, or even touched ever since he came into our family. So Daddy buzzed his sweet little head--and forgot to put the guard on to leave just a tiny bit of hair! Oh well.......summer is officially here at our home!!

Dresses and Snakes!!

To tell you the truth...maybe too much sewing did it!! I think I've lost my mind!! I sewed 23 dresses this weekend!!! Thank the Lord for the many many orders... but I also did what I said would NEVER be.......I let Gabriel --soon to be 11 yrs.-- have a SNAKE!! in the HOUSE!!....... We've had every pet you could think of...chinchillas, a hedgehog, guinea pigs, a pot-belly pig, fish, turtles, frogs, finches, parakeets, cats, dogs....the list goes on......but I always said no snakes!! Well 'Morphious'--the corn snake-- now has a locked aquarium in Gabriel's room!! Don't worry-- Morphious is not allowed in my sewing room....he'll not be next to any dress I sew!!

As I sew, I have LOTS of time to THINK... and this evening I got a phone call from a new friend (through our African Fellowship Group) that spoke some kind and true words to me. It's amazing how it lifted my spirits, even in this most dreary rainy weather ... I'm not one to preach, as I tend to be very impulsive with my words and have to ask forgiveness many times for what I say! Another friend sent me this little reminder...

ANOTHER rainy day!!

We awoke to yet more rain... I think we've got about 9" so far!! So off to church in the rain. Solomon (our 2yr. old) loves to try to sing the hymns during our worship service, but today he tried to repeat the Lord's Prayer with us...and funny thing is, he can't say the words. So he sounded like a little chicken clucking along! Back home in the rain. So that makes for a good afternoon of sewing!! Yes--Praise the Lord!! I got 3 orders for little dresses!! It's still raining and we're off to put the little ones in bed. MAYBE this rain will quit?!! I LOVE SuNsHiNe!!

Today was such a fun day with lots of birthday phone calls, shopping and lunch out with my big girls (while Bama kept the younger 3!), finding my new blog all set up, the most superb dinner cooked by my hubby and girls, and LOTS of noise!! (mostly from my squeals of excitement)

Adoption news... we are waiting on some news and when it comes to us...it'll come to you!!
