... after a LONG week... I often get so 'caught up' in this world... need to refocus and remember how blessed I am to get to do what I do in EVERY aspect of life
.... this was such encouragement to me!
thought I'd share it..."#1 - The girls wore their Poppy Dips for our homestudy home visit today. They looked adorable and the social worker commented on how beautiful their dresses were. The girls felt so pretty in their dresses. :) I told her of your adoption journey and she said she wishes you well - and she meant it. She was touched by your family's story.

#2 - Annalise, Annie and I were sewing doll clothes for their babies. They were doing most of the "sewing" while I was coaching. (Very crude outfits, but lots of love and care put into them by the girls). While Annie was hand-sewing a gathering thread across the top of her baby's sundress, I showed her how to pull the fabric along the gathering thread to bunch the fabric. She said, "Mommy, it looks just like my Poppy Dip!"

#3 - Not long after that, Annalise was hand-sewing a casing for her dolly's bonnet. We put the elastic through the casing and cinched it up, and she said, "Mommy, it's just like the top of my Poppy Dip!"

You are not only making beautiful dresses, but encouraging little seamstresses in the art of sewing. Thought you might want to know. :) ~ Kittye"

Poppy Dips and Chaos!

So we started our day with Esther NOT wanting to pose yet again in a POPPY DIP!! see her 'gritting' her teeth!! but isn't this a cute tunic top and capri set!!
ideas for you to ponder!!

....then we headed to Chuck E. Cheese's for a birthday party... okay so it's been at least 12 or 13 years ago since I've been
(with Adeline and Madison)...
let's just say... chaos...
trying to keep up with my Esther and Solomon...
'over stimulating' for them and me!!
Or maybe I'm just tired with staying up all hours of the night sewing POPPY DIPS!!
...and I'm older now!!
My amazing ~ most missed ~ hubby is out of town and took our older three kids... it's been a LONG week... and still have some to go....

...they didn't get the concept of playing the game and earning tickets... but it sure was 'cool' how tickets would pop out when the game was over!--if they stayed at that game long enough for it to be over!!

... pizza was good with friends!!

...and after about 25 tokens repeating this ride while singing 'Bob the Builder', I had to PEEL him off so that another little girl could ride ... he was NOT happy to say the least... one of those kids you see and think... 'take him home and give him a nap!!'

So I know the little ones had fun today, but I'm exhausted!! Don't know if there will be any sewing tonight!!

Little Conversations--Little Advocate for Adoption!!

Esther had a little friend over to play the other day, and I was privileged to hear their little conversation as I was pushing them together in the swing... it went something like this....

Esther..." Did you know we're going to get a little baby?"

Lillian... " you are?"
Esther..." Yes--we are adopting a little baby from Ethiopia."
Lillian... "a real little baby?"
Esther..." Yes--and you should adopt a little baby--tell your mom!"
Lillian... "Oh yes, I want a little baby and a little baby cat!!"

of course her 'little friend' is wearing a POPPY DIP!!
